ANGOLA — Lenore Jean Mahoney, 79, of Angola died Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Mahoney graduated from Marian University, Indianapolis, with a bachelor's degree in education. She was an elementary school teacher for public schools in Indianapolis. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and of Tri Kappa Sorority. She was born on September 1, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, to Lawrence and Nell (Paul) Dufour. She married Thomas F. Mahoney on June 18, 1966. He died on April 24, 2002. Surviving are a son, Kevin T. (Kelly) Mahoney of Auburn; two daughters, Amalia J. "Molly" (Eric) McCoy of Indianapolis and Kate P. (Tad) Nelson of Indianapolis; three brothers, Daniel Dufour of Indianapolis, Richard Dufour of Lebanon and Christopher (Angie) Dufour of Mooresville; six sisters, Sussanne (Stephen) Sullivan of Fishers, Donna (Joseph) Culotta of Marksville, Louisiana, Bernadette (Jim) Lathrop of Indianapolis, Victoria (Sam) Jenkins of Lafayette, Maria Dufour of Indianapolis and Dianne (Larry) Metzler of Indianapolis; and six grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Angola, with Father Bob Showers officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday with a 6:30 p.m. rosary service at the church. Memorials are to the Tri Kappa Sorority Memorial Scholarship Fund or to Marian University, Indianapolis. Weicht Funeral Home in Angola is in charge of arrangements.
