Lee I. Marquez, 84, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at his home in Las Vegas. He was born on Feb. 19, 1932, in Las Vegas to his parents, George Marquez and Deluvina Martinez Marquez. A lifetime Catholic, Lee attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas. Lee was a member of both the Eagles and the Elks Clubs. He also enjoyed spending time at his cabin in El Porvenir. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Deluvina Martinez Marquez; brothers, Lorenzo and Ernesto Marquez; sister, Elvira "Vina" Marquez; step-daughter, Thelma Holiday; nephews, Richard Maes and Jimmy and Jonathan Hafner. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Marquez of Las Vegas; step-daughter, Marla Armijo of Las Vegas; sister, Rachel Maes of Santa Fe; godsons, George Maes and wife, Anita, of Rowe, George A. Marquez and wife, Carol, of Albuquerque, and Jaryd Marquez of Las Vegas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday with funeral services following the Rosary at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant. Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas in the family plot. Cremation has taken place.
