Lee HinesRedding, CA Nov. 4, 1931 - Apr. 9, 2017Lee Hines, 85, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2017 with Arleen Hines, his beloved wife of 50 years, by his side. Lee was born on Nov. 4, 1931 in the small town of Daisy, Atoka County, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of 9 children. Lee was an incredible husband and father; He took the family on camping trips and adventures every chance he could. He loved to travel and always had a boat and spent many happy memories on the local lakes with his family. He started driving trucks in the Logging and Lumber business when he was 16. After working for many trucking companies for years, he drove 10 years for PlyChamp International in Anderson. When they ended the trucking division, he bought one of the trucks and started his own trucking business, North State Transport. After 13 years he retired. He taught several of his boys and many of their friends to drive truck, and they worked for their Dad for many years before the trucking business ended. Lee is survived by his beloved wife, Arleen Hines of Redding, CA and their combined family of 6 Sons: Gary Hines (Sandy) and Steve Rice of Redding, James Hines (Donna) of Hornbrook, CA, Ken Rice (Marsha), Tom Hines and Mike Hines of Redding, CA; 2 Daughters: Linda Keown (Ron) of Viola, CA and Noreen Wallace (Mike) of Redding, CA. 15 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings and a grandson. A Family Celebration of Lee's life will be held Saturday, April 15th at his home.
