Lee A. Arvie III, 27, resident of Philadelphia, PA died March 10, 2019 as a result of injuries sustained from senseless gun violence that has been plaguing our communities and destroying families. Lee was born August 17, 1991 in New Orleans, LA, the son of Lee A. Arvie Jr. and Terrilyn Butler. He attended Philadelphia public and Christian schools and graduated from Glenn Mills School for Boys in 2009.
Lee was an extraordinary young man who was intelligent, handsome, and talented; at a young age he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. Lee had a love for all music genres and was a boundless artist. He knew there were no limits to what he can accomplish. He had his own way of doing things, and when he made his mind up about where he stood, he meant what he said, and there was no changing it. Lee was a writer, rapper, and an outstanding representative of what it is to be a young man that had standards. Sometimes he grew tired, but he never gave up. He was determined to becoming a nationally known rap artist. Moreover, he was a dedicated father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. When we are born into this world, God chooses our families. As we grow into ourselves and begin to exercise our own free will, we choose the people we want in our lives. If Lee chose you to be a part of his life, you should consider yourself fortunate to have shared some time with him. Lee was good company to keep. Lee had a love for martial arts, and was an avid reader of self-help books like, “How to Unleash the Power of Your Subconscious Mind” and “Think & Grow Rich”. He was always eager to becoming a healthier individual physically, mentally and spiritually.
Cherishing his memories are his parents Lee Arvie Jr., Terrilyn Butler, step-mom Shirelle Arvie; his daughter, Mya Arvie Bush, 9 years old; his siblings, Shantel, Caleb, Saniah, Jalen of Philadelphia, PA, Jordon, and Jazmine of Newport News, VA, his maternal grandmother, Elaine Butler; maternal great-grandmother, Katie Martinez, his paternal grandparents, Lee Sr. and Priscilla Arvie of Texas City, TX, his uncles Ray and Jesse who were an encouragement and support to him. He also leaves behind a plethora of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends from Louisiana, Texas, Georgia and Pennsylvania.
