Lawrence "Larry" Wilson79, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully of February 24, 2017, surrounded by friends and family. He was born on May 5th, 1937 in Carroll County KY to the late Edward and Juanita Wilson. Larry studied and graduated from Butler University and continued his career in advertising which he founded and acted as President of Wilson and Davis Advertising. Larry met his first wife, Sarah "Sally" (Kern) Wilson at Butler university and together and had three children, until she passed away in 1980.  Larry was able to remarry Amanda (Shepherd) Wilson.Larry is survived by his children, Mark E. Wilson of Sussex, England, Suzanne K. Glesing of Carmel, IN, Kern L. Wilson of Scappoose, OR, Amy S Miller of Zionsville, IN, and Christopher P. Shepherd of Indianapolis. He is also survived by Thomas Miller, Jr., Brigid O'Brian, and Melissa Shepherd. Larry was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and most importantly, friend to many. What he will best be remembered for is being an incredible "papaw" to his 12 grandchildren. Larry is preceded in death by his parents; Sally Wilson, Amanda Wilson; son, James Shepherd; and sister, Gayle Wilson. Larry leaves behind him a legacy of love, honestly, and integrity for all of us to carry forward.Funeral services will be held at Leppert Mortuary, 740 E 86th St, Indianapolis, on Friday, March 3rd, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. with a reception with food and drink immediately following.
