"Nick" Nichols, 77, of Smiths Creek, passed away on November 19, 2016 in the Blue Water Hospice Home with his family by his side.He was born on June 28, 1939 in Port Huron, son of the late Addison and Norma Nichols.Nick married Emily Johnson on August 12, 2000 in Capac.He retired from St. Clair County Road Commission after working from 1967 to 1995. Nick enjoyed all sports, NASCAR, going to the casino and camping with his grandchildren and family.Nick is survived by his wife, Emily of Smiths Creek; son and daughter-in-law, Chris (Sheryl) Nichols of Fort Gratiot; son and daughter-in-law, Craig (Colene) Nichols of Attica; stepson, Ron Johnson of Mt. Morris; stepdaughter, Debbie (Mike) Adam of Marysville; stepdaughter, Helen (Andre) Harding of Saline; stepson, Tom (Ali) Johnson of California; stepdaughter, Tina (Chris) Neilsen of Wisconsin; eleven grandchildren: Cara, Kaleih, Brian, Ali, Sidney, Haley, Veronica, Craig, Andrew, Nichols and Jack; sister and brother-in-law, Pam (Earl) Daggett of Port Huron; sister-in-law, Deborah (Tom) Shook and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by a son, Curtiss Nichols; sister, Melissa Fleury and brothers: Steven, Robert, Mike, Nick Nichols and a sister-in-law, Mary Montney.A Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th Street, Port Huron.In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to the Blue Water Hospice Home.To view the obituary and share memories visit www.jowettfuneraldirectors.com
