LaNea E. Hall, 84Litchfield8/21/1932 - 6/3/2017LaNea E. Hall age 84 of Litchfield died on June 3, 2017, at the Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center in Litchfield after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease.LaNea Evon Hall, the daughter of Otis and Eva (Flanders) Brown, was born on August 21, 1932, in Swede Grove Township, Minnesota. She was baptized, confirmed, and later married at the Arndahl Lutheran Church. She attended school at District 8 country school and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1950. After high school she lived in Litchfield and worked for the REA, and met Cecil Hall square dancing at the Litchfield Opera House on Memorial Day weekend, 1953. Six months later, on November 6, 1953, she was united in marriage to Cecil at Arndahl. The newlyweds moved to the Twin Cities while Cecil attended the University of Minnesota and she worked at General Mills. In 1958, with two young boys, they moved to Boyd, MN where they lived a short time before moving to Clarkfield and then Madison, MN. They moved to Litchfield in July of 1961, now with three young boys and settled down. This is where she finally had the daughter she wished for several years later.LaNea worked for the Meeker County Social Services as a receptionist for 24 years. She was active with the Farmers Union, American Legion Auxiliary, South Fork Singers, and was a dedicated member of the DFL party. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church where she sang in the senior choir, led the children's choir, and was active in the women's circle. LaNea enjoyed canning and baking. Her pickles, peaches, and pears, along with her cinnamon rolls were a favorite of her family, and her kids' friends. She also enjoyed reading, walking, bicycling and playing games in her spare time, which was rare. She volunteered with many local organizations, and was always ready to help those in need. She had a tireless sprit of giving. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was happiest around family, and her loving nature was on full display whenever she entertained family and friends. The quality and quantity of food she produced in her little kitchen amazed many a new Zion minister and dear family member alike. She is survived by her husband Cecil Hall of Litchfield; children Kevin (and Audrey) Hall of Sugar Land, TX, David (and Laurie) Hall of St. Cloud, Steven (and Danny Della Lana) of Minneapolis, Margene (and David) Vessel of St. Paul; grandchildren Courtney (and Colin) Santillan, Amanda (and Hunter) Dozier, Tyler Hall (and partner Hattie Carvalho), Sonja (and Evan) Johnson, Liana Hall (and fiancé David Weber), Mia (and David) Harpster, Robert Hall, Raymond Della Lana, Nicole Vessel, Ben Vessel and Eva Vessel; and great-grandchildren Sloan Santillan and Cameron Santillan with her third great grandchild, Bodhi Dozier expected in August 2017.
