Detroit- With family at his side, Kortez Jamal Parks passed away outside his house in Detroit, Michigan. Kortez was the brother of Richard Parks and uncle to Marcus Parks.

Kortez was born in Toledo, Ohio to parents Jamal and Danielle Parks. The family lived in Toledo during Kortez's early years and moved to Detroit, Michigan when Doug was just 6 years old. One of Kortez's favorite childhood memories was going to the Parks family cottage at Canada Creek near Atlanta, Michigan and spending his summers there with his cousin and "Best friend" Deshon. Kortez earned his letter in basketball at King high school and graduated in 2015.

We feel very blessed to have you in our lives and thank you for the love, friendship, and compassion you provided.

There will be a Memorial on Friday, February 16th at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, MI.
