Koss, Kim M.Kim M Koss, age 57 of Kewaunee passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 29, 1959 to Edward J Koss and the late Lois (Hanmann) Koss.Kim attended Kewaunee High School graduating in 1978. She attended the Medical Institute of Minnesota receiving a Medical Laboratory Technician degree. Kim also earned her degree in Biology and Natural Science from Silver Lake College of Manitowoc.Kim worked for St. Mary's Kewaunee Area Memorial Hospital from 1981-2001. She continued her career as a Medical Technologist at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center, Green Bay from 2001 until her illness in 2016Kim was baptized on January 10, 1960 at Holy Trinity Church, Casco. She was confirmed on December 25, 1980 and became a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kewaunee and of Ladies Aid. Kim was a twenty year member of the St. Mary's Kewaunee Area Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Kewaunee County HCE, and the Kewaunee County Friendship Quilters. She loved making kolaches for the Kewaunee Heritage Farm and Holy Rosary fundraisers.Kim was an accomplished quilter and very talented in sewing, knitting, crocheting, and painting. She also enjoyed traveling, her favorite being when she toured Europe with best friend, Michele Kitzinger. She loved visiting friends during the summer months for Music in the Park at Harbor Park Kewaunee and gardening with her fellow gardeners at the Kewaunee County Community Gardens.Survivors include her father: Edward of Kewaunee; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Ann Gutoski, Cleveland, WI; Jill and Todd Groth, De Pere, WI; three nephews: Steven Gutoski, Joshua and Levi Groth; two nieces: Stacey Gutoski (Brad), Krista Groth; four Godchildren: Steven Gutoski, Whitney Pavlat, Dylan Kitzinger, Joshua Groth; aunts and uncles: Robert (Barbara) Koss, Patricia Mastalir, Sr. Annette Koss, Eileen Hanmann, William (Gail) Hanmann, Eleanora Fay (Ronald) Prodell, Wayne Pavlat and many wonderful cousins.She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Koss, paternal grandparents: Edward and Helen Koss; maternal grandparents: Walter and Eleanora Hanmann; aunts and uncles: Elaine (Dale) Jourdan, Mildred Koss, Mary (Bob) Selner, Kathleen (Jack) Voyles, Joe Mastalir, Walter Hanmann Jr., Anna May Pavlat and brother-in-law: Steven Gutoski.Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 31 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee with a closing wake devotion at 7:45 p.m. Visitation continues at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kewaunee on April 1, Saturday at 10 a.m. with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Sullivan officiating.In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.Go to www.buchananfh.com to send condolences or sign the online guest book.Kim's family would like to thank her doctors: Dr. Davis, Dr. Gautam, Dr. Sundlass, and Dr. Howenstein; the oncology/radiology nurses and staff from Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, Aurora Bay Care Medical Center, Aurora Medical of Grafton; Aurora Hospice Care, and Atrium Post Acute Care of Kewaunee.
