Kiara Murlene ApparicioKiara Murlene Apparicio, 19, of Indianapolis, formerly of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at St. Elizabeth East, Lafayette.She was born on October 30, 1997 in Lafayette to Thomas Porter and the late Starla Apparicio.Kiara graduated from McCutcheon High School in 2015 and went on to serve in the Indiana National Guard from 2015 to present. She was a Private First Class assigned as a Medic serving the Cadre and assigned soldiers of Detachment 1 Company B RSD in Lafayette. Kiara also worked as an EMT for Precision Ambulance in Connersville. She was a member of New Life Worship Center in Indianapolis where she volunteered with the special needs program and other services. Kiara enjoyed singing, dancing, and helping others.Surviving are her father and step mother, Thomas and Pam Porter of Indianapolis; her siblings, Serenity (Blake) Leatherland of Lafayette, Kyler and Keeton Becker of Peru, and Jasmine Porter of Indianapolis; and her grandparents, Patricia Stanifer of Lafayette, Murlene Porter of Alabama, and Vickie (Benjamin) Riveria of Lafayette.Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel. Services will be on Saturday, February 18th at 1:30 p.m. at Word of Life Fellowship Church (3650 Greenbush St., Lafayette) with Bishop Wright officiating.
