Kenneth J. (Kenny Joe) Thibault, 71, lifelong resident of Tawas and fourth generation "Townliner," passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014 surrounded by his family.The son of the late Kenneth A. and Winifred (Freel) Thibault was born on Sept. 7, 1942. Ken is survived by his wife, Lynda; his beloved daughters, Debra (Douglas) Jordan and Theresa Padget; step-daughter, Kelly (Glen) Dalton; and grandchildren, Sarabeth (Steven) Nauman, Allison Stevens, Diane Jordan, Jacquelynn Jordan, Jonathan Padget, Jenna Padget, Zachary Dalton and Kylie Dalton. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce (Donald) Lake. Ken was a 1960 graduate of Tawas Area High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy (1960-1964) during the Cuban Mission Crisis. Ken was businessman his entire life starting with Ken's Sunoco and Ken's Trailer Sales. Later he became a broker with Century 21-Tawas Reality. Ken's driving passion for the last 16 years was the development, construction and operation of Tawas RV Park, a haven for the senior and adult camper and his greatest pleasure was seeing other people enjoy the fruits of his labor. Ken was also an accomplished mechanic and avid car enthusiast who enjoyed building street-rods. Ken was a former Rotarian and a member of Tawas Area Elks Lodge No. 2525. Ken's other pleasures included traveling, visiting casinos and wintering in Florida. Per his wishes cremation has taken place. Private interment will take place at a later date.
