Kenneth E. Baughn Sr., 56, of Salinas passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Ken was born on June 14, 1959 and graduated from Palma High School in Salinas.
He was preceded in death by his father Herbert Baughn.
He is survived by his wife Maxine, daughter Holly Kemper, sons Ken Baughn Jr. and Jacob Baughn, and will be missed by countless other friends and family members including his mother Jean Bramman and sisters Cherlyn Aoyama and Charlotte Williams.
Ken was the ultimate story teller and practical jokester with all who knew him. He loved watching movies, especially the classics, murder mysteries, Perry Mason, and "B" movie horror flicks. He loved sports of all varieties, particularly football and the Dallas Cowboys. He was passionate about cars and loved taking them apart just as much as he did driving them at record speeds.
Following retirement from Lucky's/Albertsons grocery stores after working there for 25 years, Ken became an authority on historical, movie, and TV trivia. He could be counted on to quiz one at random on his or her knowledge of that information. He loved to talk and could always find a way to engage in a conversation with a complete stranger. When he started chatting, it was guaranteed that at least an hour would end up devoted to that conversation.
True to form and defiant as always, Ken has requested no services as he did not want people to grieve for him; instead, he wanted them to celebrate their memories of him.
