Kay Ellen McPhersonKay Ellen McPherson was called home by her heavenly father on September 27th after a long and valiant fight with pneumonia. She was born on November 19, 1950 to George and Mickie Williams in Kalispell Montana, where many of her extended family still live today. Kay's family moved to Ellensburg, WA when she was 8 years old and in 1968 she graduated from Ellensburg High School. Kay had a heart that overflowed with love. She dearly loved her husband of 28 years, Duncan McPherson, her extended family scattered across the Northwest, her friends, her dogs, and her multiple collections (owls, bells, purses, African violets). Her home was full of memorabilia that reminded her of places she had gone and people she cherished. She also loved her career as a waitress and was one of the best to ever serve at the Thunderbird and the Blue Grouse restaurants in Ellensburg. She was very proud of having survived multiple cases of cancer which, in turn, lead her to volunteer at Yakima's North Star Cancer Center. Her work there brought its own rewards especially when the Center published a newsletter article highlighting her impact on their cancer patients.Kay is survived by her husband, Duncan, her brother George Williams (Betty), stepsons Dennis, Dean, and Duncan "DJ" McPherson and their families along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Contributions to cancer or Alzheimers research foundations in her name would be greatly appreciated. To share your condolences with the family, please visit www.Brooksidefhc.com
