Kathleen ComerScotchtown - Kathleen Margaret Comer, a local area resident since 2015 and formerly of Peekskill, died at Orange Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 after years of struggle with Muscular Dystrophy. She was 47.She was born on March 23, 1970. She graduated from Peekskill High School in 1988 and enrolled and graduated from Katherine Gibbs in 1989. She began a long career at Metro-North Railroad and later graduated from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh with a bachelor's degree in business. Kathleen retired from Metro-North Railroad after 25 years of service. She also volunteered as an E.M.T. for the Peekskill Ambulance Corps. She always enjoyed spending time with her family, most especially her nieces & nephews, with whom she shared a great interest in technology, gadgets, the internet, and gaming. Kathleen is survived by her mother, Marilyn Comer of Fishkill; her siblings, Patricia Drivanos of Scotchtown, Michael W. Comer of Worcester, MA, Mel Comer & her partner Tracey Miller of Ridgefield, CT, and William J. Comer, PhD, of Portland, OR; her nieces & nephews, Brett Comer, Toby Comer & his wife Casey, Elyse Comer, Maggie Comer, Reanna Pergolizzi, Joseph Pergolizzi, Stratton Drivanos, Garrett Drivanos, Hunter Drivanos, and Jared Solomon; and many other relatives & friends. She was predeceased by her father, George William Comer, as well as her brother-in-law, Strat Drivanos.Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 29 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 30 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
