LORAIN – Katherine Crawford-Plott, 96, of Lorain, formerly of Florence, passed away on Tuesday October 25, 2016 at Amherst Manor. She was born on February 5, 1920 in Elyria. She was a 1939 graduate of Elyria High School. She had worked at the former Berlin Heights Basket Factory, Western Automatic in Elyria and helped her first husband on their dairy farm. She was a member of the Florence Grange and had served as Secretary. She was an avid gardener even in her 90's and enjoyed spending her winters in Florida. She is survived by her children Jennie (Jesse) Sherrill, of Crossville, TN, Tom (Pam) Crawford, of Martin, OH, Jerry (Sharon) Crawford of Florence, step-children Jennifer Huhn, of Sheffield Village, Gregory Plott, of Elyria, and Carla (Dennis) Hobart, of Lorain, 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas Crawford, her second husband John Plott, her parents Charlie and Jennie (Dunfee) Hammer, two brothers George and Charles Hammer, a grandson, Sean Crawford, a daughter-in-law Kathleen Crawford, and two step-sons, Grover and Darrell Plott. Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of services at 10:00 am at the Morman Funeral Home 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. Chaplain Mel Sayler will be officiating.
