Vander Velden, Karin JoKarin J. Vander Velden, age 79, of Kimberly, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 8, 2017. She was born on August 7, 1938, daughter of the late Ollie and Ethel (Gibson) Prusynski. She married Ken Vander Velden on December 28, 1957, and they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. Karin graduated from Kimberly High School, Class of 1956. She was a varsity cheerleader all four years and was a D.A.R. Award winner. Karin volunteered at the public schools helping the nurse administer tests, and also at St. Al's School, helping with lunch and playground duties. Above all, Karin was a devoted wife and mother, and a loving grandmother. Karin is survived by her loving husband, Ken; her children and grandchildren: Louise (Ted) Becklund and their children: Max, Nick, Heather and Aimee (Dustin); John Vander Velden and his children: Zachary and Ashton; Larry (Beverly) Vander Velden and their children: Jordan and Paige; Joanne (Joe) Metzen and their children: Sam, Carter, Noah and George; Kurt Vander Velden and his children: Rowan and Killian; 9 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Vander Velden; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Karin was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Ethel; a sister, Linda (Dick) Verkuilen; brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerry, Gene (Grace), and Jeff (Laurie) Vander Velden. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 410 Wallace Street, Combined Locks, with Fr. Andy Kysely officiating. Family and friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. For online condolences, please visit
