Karen Diann Bowser Earley, 68, of Chicora passed away Friday at UPMC Shadyside following a brief illness.Karen was born on Aug. 12, 1948, in East Brady. She was the daughter of the late William Blair and Deloris Marie Shaffer Bowser.Karen was a 1966 graduate of East Brady High School. She had been employed as a dental assistant by Dr. Scisly in East Brady. Karen enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, morning "Breakfast Club" at Cindy's Place and the company of her silver lab, Bella. Karen was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora and had served as president of the Sugarcreek Township Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for many years.Karen was married in East Brady on Oct. 1, 1966, to Ernest "Ernie" Earley. The couple had recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family cruise to New England and Canada.In addition to her husband, Karen is survived by a brother, Robert Bowser and his wife, Kim, of Sligo; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, William and Patricia Earley of Franklin and Esther and William Stahlman of Chicora; as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.EARLEY - Friends of Karen Diann Bowser Earley, who passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Hile Funeral Home, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road.Additional visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Road. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Boomhower, church pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Earley's name may be made to the Sugarcreek Township Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, 110 Rodgers Road, East Brady, PA 16028.
