KAREN MAE BRIGGS, 74 ROCK CITY - Karen Mae Briggs, 74 yrs. old, of Rock City passed away on Mon. Oct. 12, 2015 at Medina Nursing Center in Durand. She was born on Sept. 15, 1941 the daughter of Dale & Lucille (Meinert) Bell. She attended college in Rockford for her LPN Certificate; she worked at St. Joseph's Nursing Home for 20 yrs. & later worked at Sojourn for 10 yrs. before retiring. Karen was a member of the United Methodist Church Church in Cedarville, Book club, Crochet club, United Methodist Women's Club, she enjoyed baking, gardening, reading, canning & spending time with family. She is survived by her sons: David Briggs (Deanna) of Rock City, Wayne Briggs of Cedarville, Grandchildren: Amanda of Fort Atkinson, WI; Kim, Katie, Duane of Cedarville, & Ryan of Freeport, brother: Duane (Phyllis) Bell of Land O Lakes Florida, nieces, nephews & friends. Karen is preceded in death by her parents: Dale & Lucille Bell & nephews: Mike & Ray Bell. Services will be on Thurs. Oct. 15, 2015 at 4pm at the United Methodist Church in Cedarville. Visitation will be on Wed. Oct. 14, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Schwarz Park Blvd. Chapel, 608 S. park Blvd. A memorial has been established in her memory.
