Ondik, JuliusJulius George Ondik, age 77 of Gillett, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Julius was born on November 22, 1939 in East Chicago, IN, to the late Joseph Sr. and Rose (Cservenyak) Ondik. He attended a one room school house on Claywood Road up to 8th grade, later graduating from Gillett High with the Class of 1957. For many years, Julius played basketball for 4-H. Julius married the love of his life, Elizabeth DeBauch, in 1966. Since 1947, Julius farmed with his family in the same place. Julius also delivered machinery for Greenline Impliment and drove milk truck. He enjoyed trap shooting, playing pool, and bowling. Julius enjoyed pulling his John Deere tractors the most, having pulled for 50 years.Julius is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth; four children, Kyle (Chris) Ondik of Gillett, Kim (Matt Dey) Ondik of Spruce, Chad Ondik of Spruce, Kristy (Jody Tousey) Ondik of Coleman; grandchildren, Angel, Dylan, Mercedes, Vera; siblings, Rose Kriescher of Black Creek, Joseph Ondik of Suamico, Bob (Judy) Ondik of Gillett. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ann Benson.Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring from 9 am until the funeral service at 12 pm with Father David Barrett officiating. Julius will be interred in Saint Michael Catholic Cemetery next to his parents. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring is assisting the family with arrangements.
