WINDSOR Julia Barbara (Sower) Frey, 86, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at the York Hospital. She was beloved wife of the late Glenn J. Frey, Sr. The couple was married for 41 years until Glenn's passing in 1988. Mrs. Frey was born on May 14, 1927, in Montgomery, Pa. She was the daughter of the late John Franklin and Bessie Mae (Ream) Sower. Julia was a homemaker. In her spare time she enjoyed doing plastic canvas crafts. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her five children, Brenda Hoenstine and her husband, David of Dover, Glenn J. Frey, Jr. and his wife, Alexis of York, Mary E. Snyder of Stewartstown, Betty A. Crouse and her husband, Steven of Red Lion, and Mark A. Frey of New Oxford. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great- great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Rick Snyder; two grandchildren; and her eight siblings. A funeral service to honor Julia's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with Pastor Richard B. Starr officiating. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
