Nelson, Judith Ann "Judy"Judith Ann "Judy" Nelson, 77, Green Bay, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 20, 2017. She was born on May 23, 1940, in Waukesha to Norbert Frances and Bernice Mimmie (Kothrade) Albrecht.Judy graduated from St. Mary's Academy in St. Francis, Class of 1958. She later attended Cardinal Stritch College, and later St. Francis Seminary where she worked on her Master's Degree while in the convent. On July 25, 1970, Judy married Robert Nelson, Jr., at Holy Apostles Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1972. Throughout her 35-year career, Judy taught elementary school at Holy Apostles School, Holy Spirit School, and finally at St. Mary's School. She enjoyed art, creative writing and poetry. Judy devoted her whole life to her family; her son, Robert, her grandchildren, and her parents were the loves of her life.Judy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert "Bob" III and Katrina Nelson; five grandchildren, Maya, Riley, Hailey, Brynn, and Robby; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Georgeanne Albrecht; nephew, William (Lynn) Albrecht; niece, Amanda Albrecht and her special friend, Pete Rotaru; and many other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nelson, Jr.; her parents, grandparents, and mother-in-law, Frances Nelson; and Judy's best friend, Audrey Gorak.Friends may call at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr., from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon Wednesday with the Most Reverend Robert F. Morneau officiating. Burial will be in Holy Apostle Cemetery in Milwaukee.
