Farr-Finnan of Londonderry, NH passed away peacefully on March 5, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Massachusetts General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Judi was born on May 20, 1941 to the late Karl Jessen and Lillian (Castle) Jessen. Judi attended Wappingers High School in Poughkeepsie, NY and received her nursing degree from Dutchess Community College. She worked as a surgical nurse in hospitals in Poughkeepsie and Valhalla, NY, North Conway, NH and Bradenton, FL until her retirement in 2005. Judith was married to the late Kermit Farr until his passing in 1978. In 1984 Judi remarried G. Donald Finnan until his passing in 2011.Judi was raised and resided for many years in Poughkeepsie NY, until relocating to Glen, NH and Bayonet Point, FL. She eventually became a resident of Crossville, Tennessee until she moved back to Londonderry, New Hampshire in 2015. She was most recently a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry, NH.Judi loved all animals, but had a soft spot for cats. She would often foster many cats at a time, providing them love and care until they could find their forever homes. She spent many years as a volunteer in a Crossville, TN animal shelter. She was an active member of the church community. Judi was an avid reader and crossword/Sudoku player. She also enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Judi was an expert at Thanksgiving Dinner and loved to make her turkey and stuffing for the family to enjoy.Judi was known for her compassion, strength, independence, and relentless spirit. She was a kind, loving and supportive presence in the lives of her family and friends. Judi's passing will be a loss greatly felt by the many who knew her.Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her family. She was the beloved sister to and is survived by sisters Honey (Lillian) and her husband Phil Versace of NY, Carol and her husband Albert Del Santo of FL, Dolores and her husband Richard Herman of California and her brother Karl Jessen and his wife Carol of NY. She is survived by daughter Kelly of VT, son Brooke and his wife Suzanne of NH, daughter Allison and her husband Henry Kocot of FL and son Jonathan and his fiancée Bonnie of NH. Judi was the beloved grandmother to seven grandchildren, Neil Farr and his wife Perry of VT, Adria Farr of NH, Jonathan Farr, Jr. of NH, Maxwell Farr of NH, Kyle Fulkerson of NH, Kristi Farr of NH and Taylor Sweeney of VT. She also leaves behind 3 great grandchildren, Jackson, Eloise and Jonathan III. She was the beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews.The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Lahey Oncology Clinics in both Derry and Salem and Massachusetts General Hospital, especially the staff of Lunder 10, for their compassionate care of Judi.Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
