PENNINGTON, JUANITA H. SWANSON - was born on February 4, 1940 to her proud parents, Raymond Hammonds and Ola B. Jones. She was a long time dedicated member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and received numerous awards for her poetry and work in the community. Affectionately known as the Neighborhood Watch Lady, she was employed as a senior companion and nursing assistant. She was a person you could never forget once you met her. On Saturday, November 27, 2010 she was called home to glory to receive her wings. Preceded in death by parents, daughter, Helen Davis; sister, Maybelle Trent, husbands; Nathan Swanson and Robert Harris. She leaves to honor her memory: children; Nathaniel, Tyrone and Maxwell Swanson and Shayla Trent; loving and devoted grandson, Johnathan (Stephanie) Swanson; 7 great-grandchildren; Jordan, Patrick and Hines families and numerous other relatives and loved ones. Thanks for your many acts of kindness, prayers and love shown to us during the illness and bereavement of our precious loved one. With special thanks to Fort Sanders Regional Center staff, the Mechanicsville community and a very devoted "adopted family" the Warners and Terri Robinson. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 4, 2010 from 11:00 - 11:30 AM with funeral services to follow at Unity Mortuary Chapel. Reverend Christopher R. Battle Sr. officiating. Internment to follow at New Gray Cemetery. Services to conclude with a full dove release. Family and friends will assemble at the home of her niece, Helen Patrick, 2741 Tarleton Road.
