Juan Garcia Quinones, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2020. He was born in Guanica, Puerto Rico, on November 24, 1927. Juan Garcia was known as "Kychy" and was married to and loved Lydia Maria Rodriguez for many years. He was a Barber, by profession, and touched the lives of the Spanish Harlem, El Barrio Community. He had many acquaintances, many of whom, enjoyed fishing with him on his days off at the East River Pier. He loved listening and dancing to his native island's (Puerto Rico) patriotic music and tremendously enjoyed playing his vast collection of country music cd's and cassettes. He was survived by his family, friends and others whose lives he touched. More specifically, he is survived by his daughters, Rose, Ines and Lydia Galarza, Miriam and Rosita Garcia, and, by his many grandchildren. Due to the pandemic, only a few selected family members were invited to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat, to rejoice his life at R G Ortiz Funeral Home Inc, 4425 Broadway, N.Y, N.Y. 10040 on June 9, 2020. In attendance at the viewing were his daughters, Ines and Lydia Galarza, Rosita Garcia, and, his grandchildren, Robert Arzola, Cherilyn Arzola, and, Louie Galarza. Honorable mentions to Inesita Rosa, Wendy Dominguez and Dufftin Garcia. Juan Garcia Quinones was laid to rest at St. Raymond's Cemetery on June 9, 2020. May his soul rest in peace as heaven has gained another Angel.
