Josephine (Jo) Hansing Gottemoellerage 90, of Centerville, was born on July 9, 1926 to the late Christian and Alma (Duggan) Hansing in Indianapolis, IN. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Walter L. Gottemoeller; and her loving sister, Florence Hansing Kuntz. Mrs. Gottemoeller graduated from Marian College with a B.A. degree in Psychology and Education and from Butler University with a Master's of Science in Education. She was an elementary teacher of 34 years. She taught at St. Roch and St. Jude Catholic Schools and at #28, #31, and #65 in Indianapolis Public Schools. She was a life member of the National Education Association and the Marion County Retired Teacher's Association. She also was a member of the Indiana Retired Teacher's Association. Josephine was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church where she had been a lector and a Eucharistic Minister.Josephine is survived by her daughter, Christine (Dan) Dittman; son, Rev. Mark Gottemoeller; and her grandchildren, Matt, Katie, and Maggy Dittman; and also numerous nieces and nephews.She was a life member of the National Education Association and the Marion County Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street (US HWY 31 South), Indianapolis, IN 46227 where morning prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 prior to Mass.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Roch Catholic Church, 3600 S.
