Raybourne, Joseph,Joseph Reid Raybourne, 78, of Louisville, Ky and West Palm Beach, FL, returned to his heavenly father on November 27, 2016. His wife, children, and grandchildren were by his side. Joe was born on May 19, 1938 in Mackville, KY, the first child of Sterling and Helen Thompson Raybourne.After high school, Joe attended University of Kentucky where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering/Industrial Management. He was a member of PHI DELTA TAU, a Kentucky Colonel, and was enlisted in the US Army Reserve.He began dating the former Jean Cunningham in 1960. They married November 10, 1962 in Albuquerque, NM. After a brief stay in Las Vegas, Nevada, Joe and Jean moved to Louisville, Kentucky and raised their two daughters, Kim and Janet. Joe worked in a variety of management positions with the Ford Motor Company for 31 years.He was preceded in death by his parents. He was survived by his devoted wife, Jean, two daughters: Kim Raybourne (with partner, Sheryl) from Louisville, KY. Janet Shacklette (with fiance, Frank) from Wake Forrest, North Carolina, three grandchildren: Marina Shacklette, Hannah Shacklette, and Noah Shacklette, all of North Carolina, a sister: Linda Witsman (with husband Art ) from Crawfordsville,Indiana and a brother; Jim Raybourne ( with wife, Pat ) from Springfield, Kentucky.Joe lived a very full and active life. He enjoyed boating and riding his motorcycle. He and Jean enjoyed to travel and did so frequently. Joe loved playing tennis and golf, dancing with his wife, and playing cards with friends. He was an inventor of gadgets. Joe was a jokester and a prankster with a great sense of humor. His laughter will long be remembered by family and friends.Funeral services will be held for Joe on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road with Chip Pendleton officiating.
