Joseph J. DaleoJoseph J. Daleo, 87 died Thursday in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loved ones.Joseph was born on December 8, 1929 in Lodi. He was raised there and graduated from Lodi High School. He moved to Clifton after marrying his beloved wife Alice and lived there until moving to Pompton Plains in 2003. He worked as a handbag framer for Empress Handbags in his early years and retired as a general manager for TG Makmy and PFC, Inc. in Clifton. He was a parishioner of St. Anne's Melkite Catholic Church in Woodland Park.Mr. Daleo was a beloved husband to the late Alice Daleo and a loving father to Judith & John Mari of Toms River, Brenda Owen and her deceased husband Bryan of Brick, Allyson & Michael Scibetta of Pompton Lakes, Joseph Jr. & Lisa Daleo of Branchburg, and Michele & John Silva of Pompton Plains. He was also a loving grandfather to Dana, Janelle, Donald, Alicia, Tom, Brielle, Bethany, Sarah, Heather, Amber, Jennifer, Alexa and Jason, as well as his great-grandchildren Tommy Jr., Holden, Anthony, Emma and Dre. A devoted brother to the late Salvatore Daleo and Rose Alby, and surviving brother James Daleo Jr. and sister Catherine Hafenmaier. Joseph was a wonderful man. He lived a very simple life and enjoyed spending time with his family very much. He will be greatly missed.Visiting will be held at St. Anne's Melkite Catholic Church in Woodland Park on Sunday, June 11th from 3-8 PM. Funeral will be held on Monday, June 12th at 11 am again at the Church, with burial services to follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Totowa. Please call 973-919-4570 for further info.
