Jose T. Espinoza, age 70, a resident of Las Vegas, N.M., for the past three years, and longtime resident of Rainsville, N.M., passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013, at his home in Las Vegas after an extended illness. He was born on June 29, 1942, in Rainsville to the late Emilio Espinoza and Justita Martinez Espinoza. He was employed at the Las Vegas Medical Center and retired after 15 years. Jose T. Espinoza was a man of many accomplishments; his biggest and most important was raising his family of 12 with his loving spouse Joan. He was a role model for his children showing that with strength and willpower you can overcome any obstacles. Jose was best known by his friends and family for his musical talents, ranching techniques and exquisite craftsmanship. He enjoyed roaming his ranch on his four wheeler, woodworking and most of all, spending time with his family. His humble beginnings in dairy farming paved the way for his future in ranching, his other occupations such as security, Farmway Feed, and working in maintenance let him experience people from all walks of life. He will always be in the memory and hearts of his peers and family. He was a Catholic and attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas and St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Mora, N.M. He is preceded in death by his parents: Emilio and Justita Espinoza, son: Joseph Espinoza and granddaughter: Arianna Martinez. He is survived by his loving wife: Joan Espinoza of Las Vegas, sons and daughters: Daniel Duran of Albuquerque, Joe Espinoza Jr. and wife, Darlene, of Rainsville, Lawrence Espinoza and girlfriend Geraldine Padilla of Las Vegas, Clarissa Cordova and husband, Greg Kogovsek, of Northglenn, Colo., Andrew Espinoza and wife, Irene, of Las Vegas, Matthew Espinoza and girlfriend Beth Hale of Denver, Michelle Espinoza and boyfriend Tom Rudolph, Yvonne Espinoza and boyfriend Michael Baca all of Las Vegas, Maxine Valdez and husband, Rick, of Tucson, Ariz., Joanie Espinoza, Jeanette Espinoza and boyfriend Joe Ortiz, and Elizabeth Espinoza and boyfriend Joey Herrera all of Las Vegas, grandchildren: 36, great-grandchildren: 12, brother: Agapito Martinez and wife, Lou, of San Antonio, Texas, sister: Maria Sanchez and husband, Lino, of Sapello, numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A public visitation will be held all day today (Friday) at Rogers Chapel, 600 Reynolds Ave., in Las Vegas. Rosary devotional services will be held at 7 p.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will take place at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rainsville with the following serving as casket bearers: Manny Duran, Aaron Vasquez, JJ Vigil, Donnie Martinez, Rodney Cordova and Armando Valdez.
