Jordan WielandPEORIA - Jordan Fred Wieland, 93, of Peoria passed away at 5 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria. Jordan was born on Jan. 24, 1923, in Peoria County to Fred and Louise (Wyss) Wieland. He married Marie Schifgowich on July 5, 1953, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on Jan. 22, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Darlene Chesko and Mary Lou Wieland.He is survived by his son, Vincent (Mickey) Wieland of Dunlap; three granddaughters, Kayla (Mike) Schneider of Edwards, Tarah (Tom) Meister of Farmington and Erika (Tyler) Scheirer of Normal; three great-grandsons, Heath and Luke Meister and Wesley Schneider; and two great-granddaughters, Braelyn Schneider and Annabelle Meister. He is also survived by one brother, Gene (Pat) Wieland of Peoria; one brother-in-law, Jim Chesko of Peoria; and several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.One of his great joys was spending time with his granddaughters, attending all of their sporting events. Jordan was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.Jordan was a tool designer at Caterpillar Tractor Company, retiring in January of 1985, after 44 years of dedicated hard work and creativity, which earned him recognition in the Caterpillar Hall of Fame.Jordan was an avid bowler, bowling in a couple's league. He was also a softball player, playing on the Caterpillar softball team. He also enjoyed golfing, taking many trips with his buddies to Biloxi, Miss. He was very proud of his holes-in-one on the golf course. He also enjoyed gardening and baking, especially known for his raspberry jam and pecan pie.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with an additional visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
