Joie Christine Shinkle82, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 14, 2017, in Ft. Myers, Florida with her daughters by her side. She was born on October 14, 1934 in Williamsburg, KY to Dow and Sarah Florence Steely. In 1959, Chris married Donald Shinkle. They enjoyed family vacation trips and their second home in Florida.Chris began her career as a beautician and still loved to do hair up to the last few years. She retired after 30 years from Basic American Industries working in their accounts payables department.Chris enjoyed maintaining her flowers in her yard, being around people and always dressed for the occasion. Her love for people also was illustrated by always caring and giving to others.Chris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, sisters, grandson and great grandson.Survivors include daughters: Pam (Jack) Keeney, Patti (Mike) Healy, grandchildren: Jason (Jennifer) Clymore, Donelle (Walker) Alte, Jordan Keeney and Kelly (Ryan) Blue. Great grandchildren: Austin, Ashlyn, Allyson Alte, DJ, Karsyn Clymore, and Sophie, Maeve Blue.A Graveside Service will be conducted at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to THLS - Michael D.
