PalmyraRainbolt, Johnny Franklin,83, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017. Johnny was born on March 14, 1933 in Palmyra, IN to John Rainbolt and Pearl Frankie (Scharrer) Rainbolt. Johnny was an Army veteran, a member of the Palmyra United Methodist Church, a member of the Jefferson Masonic Lodge #104 in New Albany, Indiana, a member of the Palmyra Cemetery Board, and a Charter Member of the Palmyra Lion's Club. He was an entrepreneur working in the carnival business as a manager, kiddie ride operator, food vendor and was an entertainment manager for various carnival acts. Johnny loved working in the carnival business providing entertainment and bringing joy to families all across the country. Johnny was also a car enthusiast. He was a true gentleman who had an exquisite sense of style. Johnny was a very caring person who loved everyone, and anyone who knew him loved him too. Survivors include several cousins and a host of community friends. He is preceded in death by his parents John Rainbolt and Pearl Frankie (Scharrer) Rainbolt.Funeral services will be held at Palmyra United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 5 p.m. with burial to follow at the Palmyra Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 3, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m-noon. at Love Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 1 p.m. until time of service at Palmyra United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Palmyra United Methodist Church, the Palmyra Lion's Club, and/or the Palmyra Cemetery.
