J. Steadman McCurry, 49 years of age, passed peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2016.Steadman was born on October 3, 1967 in Bradenton, Florida to Neil and Bettye Sue McCurry.There will be a celebration of Steadman's life on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Christ Episcopal Church, 1412 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28207 at 11:00 with a gathering immediately to follow in the Blue Room. The Family will hold a private inurnment in his home town of Bradenton, Florida.Survivors include his devoted wife, Pam, and their two beautiful children, Bebe and Stead; his father and mother, Neil and Bettye Sue McCurry of Bradenton; his brother, Neil (Katie) of Sarasota; his sister, Liane McCurry of Sarasota; his sister-in-law, Lisa Jacker of Charlotte; his sister-in-law, Julene McCurry of Bradenton; his nieces, Sara and Hannah of Bradenton; and many loved Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins. Last but certainly not least, his sidekick Cocker Spaniel, Brady.Steadman was proud to have received degrees from Florida State University, Wake Forest University, and Appalachian State University. He worked for Microsoft Corporation for 18 years.Steadman was most known for his gentle and laid back demeanor, always happy and willing to lend a helping hand to others. He was above all a treasured Father, Husband, Son, and Brother. He loved the Lord and his family at Christ Episcopal Church. He had a lifelong love of tennis, a passion for technology, a self-proclaimed computer geek, and a fierce Florida State Football Fan. He had a passion for academics, was an animal lover, and had far too many other loves and interests to list.
