John (Jonny) Melvin Greer was born to the late; Jesse and Venetia Greer the oldest of 3 children John always was protective over his younger siblings, Sidney and Jesse Jr. in which both have passed on.

As a young man Jonny always loved cars and was passionate about building things, after his education in the Detroit Public Schools systems Jonny furthered his career in the United States Military fighting for our country, discharged on the winter of 1946 Jonny met his wife Loretta and they shared 4 children together (John Jr,Starnetta,Chatonna and Barack) continuing on to Ford Motor Company than to Chrysler Automotives Jonny was fulfilling his dreams. After retirement, John and his wife Loretta moved to Sandusky Ohio in which they cared for his late sister Sidney as she became ill. Leaving behind 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, Johnny also known as J.G lived a long enjoying life and will forever be missed, get your rest young man as his grandson would say.
