John Lawrence, Jr. MT. PLEASANT - John Clifford Lawrence, Jr., 81, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, went to be with his heavenly father on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. He was born on Wednesday, October 16, 1935 in Bluestone, WV to the late Mrs. Nancy Mason Lawrence and the late Mr. John Clifford Lawrence, Sr. John served in the U.S. Air Force as an X-Ray Technologist, and then pursued a career in the medical field at the McGuire VA Hospital in Richmond, VA for over thirty-five years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, sports and spending time with his family. John was especially fond of his "Molly", a rescued lab/golden retriever. He was a longtime member, over fifty years, of the Masonic Lodge. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather "G-Daddy", Great "GG-Daddy" and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Bonnie S. Lawrence, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one daughter, Diane Cooper (Lance), of Lexington, SC; two sons, Jeff Lawrence and Gary Lawrence (Jennifer), both of Mt. Pleasant, SC; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many loving nieces, nephew and friends. He was predeceased by his loving parents; and one brother, Charles Lawrence; and one sister, Nancy L. Fanning. Graveside Services with Masonic Rites will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 450 Court House Road, Princeton, West Virginia, 24740. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Point Hope United Methodist Church, 3404 Turgot Lane, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Point Hope United Methodist Church, 3404 Turgot Lane, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466.
