JOHN J. JACKOWSKI, 41 CEDARVILLE - John J. Jackowski, 41, of Cedarville, died Saturday June 1, 2013, in his home, after a 13 month battle with lung cancer. He was born on April 27, 1972, in Freeport, IL, the son of John W. and Judy (Barkau) Jackowski. John married Sarah A. Guenzler on August 24, 2002, in Cedarville, IL. John graduated from Freeport High School in 1990. He was the finance manager at J.H. Barkau & Sons for nine years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, wave runners, water sports, and was an avid golfer. John was also an avid Green Bay Packer and TCU Horned Frogs fan. John is survived by his wife, Sarah A. Jackowski of Cedarville, IL; his parents, John (Billie Jo) Jackowski of Freeport and Judy (Duane) McLinn of Freeport; three brothers, Wayne (Carol) Jackowski of Freeport, Jim Jackowski of Machesney Park, IL, and Tom (Danell) Jackowski of Sycamore, IL; two sisters, Beth (Rodney) Jackowski-Bennett of Chicago, IL and Amy (Kirk) Alber of Cedarville; his niece, Jennika Alber; his nephew, Erik Alber; and his parents-in-law, Richard (Cheryl) Guenzler. John was preceded in death by his grandparents; his stepfather, Vale Nortridge; his uncle, Ed Jackowski; and two friends, Jim Van Heeren and Frank Ussery. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Cedarville Emmanuel Church, with Rev. Paul Gerardy officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery.
