John Hotsko, age 72, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from Interstitial Lung Disease at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in Salinas, CA John was born July 26, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA to George & Mary Hotsko.
In 1961 John married Sandra Pickinpaugh, to this union two children, Mark & Tina were born. Later the couple divorced.
In 1974 John married Barbara Runnion and had a daughter, Sarah. John worked as a CHP Officer in the Monterey Office for 22 years before retiring medically in 1988. He then went to work for the transportation business for 25 years driving full sized tour buses, mini buses, vans, limousines and town cars. He met many interesting people in the next 25 years while driving.
John & Barb were avid motorcyclists for many years with the Cal-Tex Riders logging in many miles each year. John became interested in computers later and ended up being the "go-to-guy" for many people's tech problems. John was an easy going person most of the time and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren as well as his great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah, in 1979 and his brother, George II, in 2000.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara, his parents George & Mary Hotsko of Allentown, PA, his children, Mark (Tweety) Hotsko of Los Banos, CA, Tina Parks of Yuma, AZ , grandchildren Christine, Mandee, Brittany & Brandon, great grandchildren Jacob, Sandy & Bryce, Kaliyah & Dominick Brandon Jr & Khloe.
John chose to be cremated. The family would like to thank Dr. John Clark and Dr. Cole for the superior care they gave John in his last days and an extra special thank you goes out to the nurses, nurse's aides and the respiratory therapists that were so caring, going beyond the extra mile of caring to both John and the family during his final hours.
