Gallios, John Aristidis 86, beloved husband of Angela (née Kantzavelos), passed away on March 23, 2017. John was born on May 25, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois to Greek immigrant parents, Harry Gallios, a fruit and vegetable peddler and Georgia (née Kandeva), and was one of eight children. John was a proud graduate of Wabash College and Northwestern University Dental School. He served in the U.S. Air Force for two years. John had a pediatric dental practice in Elmhurst, Illinois until his retirement in 1995. He was also an associate professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. After his retirement from dentistry, John worked for several years as an usher for the Arizona Diamondbacks at Bank One Ballpark, a starter at Eagle Mountain Golf Club and as a volunteer at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale. His passions were his family, friends, golf and politics. John is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Angela, son, Aris (Scott Raney), daughter, Stephanie (Mark Zimmerman) and grandsons, John James Janikis, Michael Janikis and Zachary Janikis. It gave John great pride to attend the college graduation of each of his grandsons and to see them become established in their careers. John is also survived by his brother, Van (Connie) of Park Ridge, Illinois, sister, Betty Sefer (the late Bob) of Thousand Oaks, California, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Christ Kantzavelos of Seattle, Washington, sister-in-law, Cookie Donahoe (the late David) of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Koumbaro and best friend, George Bissias (MaryAnn) of Scottsdale, Arizona. John is predeceased by his sister, Helen Mavrelis (the late George), sister, Mary Bliss (the late James), brother, Nick (Friedl), and brother James (the late Alice). Each of John's brothers and sisters had a positive impact on his life. Services have been conducted.
