Johanna D. Stanton Bellevue Johanna D. Stanton age 106 of Bellevue passed away on Saturday April 29, 2017, in Battle Creek. She was born on January 21, 1911, a daughter of Andrew and Leona (Solji) Dianich in Ramsay, MI. Jo graduated from high school at the age of 16 and attended Henry Ford School of Nursing graduating with the Class of 1934. On September 15, 1937, she married Herman  B. Stanton , he preceded her in death on December 14, 1977 .She worked at Henry Ford Hospital before moving to Battle Creek where she worked at the Community Hospital and the Battle Creek Sanitarium. Jo enjoyed sewing, art and painting. She was a member of the Battle Creek Artist Society and Baseline United Methodist Church and the Baseline Quilters.Surviving Jo are her sons,  Jeffery (Carol) Stanton of Bellevue, Kimball (Rachel) Stanton of Oronoco, MN, Grandchildren, Christine (John) Klipfer of Bellevue, Julia (Jon) Williams of St Paul, MN, John (Helena) Stanton of the Cayman Islands, Michael (Megan) Stanton of Duluth, MN, great grandchildren , Leah Klipfer and Leo Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers.Relatives and friends will be received from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday May 3, 2017, at the Kempf Family Funeral Home Bellevue Chapel 205 N. Elizabeth St. Bellevue, MI 49021. A funeral service celebrating the life of Jo will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday April 3, 2017 at the funeral home with Reverend Melanie Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Maple Grove Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Center.
