SSG. Joe Lee Shields passed away unexpectedly in Birmingham, AL on April 25, 2020 at the age of 65.

Joe is survived by his wife, Allison K. Shields (née: Scott); two daughters, Jinosha Kelly and Eulise Sharpe (née: Adams); son, Josef Shields; sister, Juddie Jones (née: Shields), two grandchildren, Regan Sharpe and Tyler Kelly; niece Erika Jones; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Joe was born on November 25, 1954 in Birmingham, AL to Joe Shields and Mamie Shields-Settle (née: Binion). He graduated from CW Hayes High School in 1973 and went on to join the U.S. Army in 1975.

Joe Shields will forever be interred at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
