Joe C. Salazar, 77, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in Las Vegas.He was born on May 17, 1937, to Aurelio Salazar and Lucy Lujan in Las Vegas.He was preceded in death by his parents, Aurelio Salazar and Lucy Lujan.A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas.He is survived by his son, Jose C. Salazar Jr. and wife, Frances, of Las Vegas; granddaughters, Nicole Salazar and husband, Jason, of Albuquerque, Robin Salazar and husband, Christopher, of Las Vegas, Melissa Serrano and husband, Hector, of Los Lunas; daughters, Lucy L. Salazar, Denise Daniel and husband, Michael Daniel, of Durango, Colo., Dedrea Vigil and husband, Dennis, of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Audra Vigil and Adriana Vigil, both of Albuquerque; son, Michael G. Salazar and wife, Josie, of Las Vegas; granddaughter, Alexsandra and husband, Jesse Baca, of Las Vegas; grandsons, Michael J. Salazar and fiancée, Samantha Lopez, of Albuquerque, Estevan J. and Nicholas S. Salazar of Las Vegas; and seven great-grandchildren.Rosary services will be held at 8 p.m. on Sunday at Immaculate Conception Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Monday also at Immaculate Conception Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will follow at National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 3 p.m. with the following serving as casket bearers: Jesse Baca, Estevan Salazar, Michael James Salazar, Christopher Ortega, Jason Brown, Hector Serrano, Brandon Salazar-Sanchez.
