Joan Ketchem, 89Muncie -  Joan Ketchem, 89, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at home with her daughter and caregiver Bonnie by her side along with her grandson Shane holding her hand. She was born on August 7, 1927, in Muncie, the daughter of James O. and Leona M. (Taylor) Curts. Joan lived her entire life in Muncie and married Johnnie Ketchem on December 19, 1946. They went on to have two children, Bonnie and Johnnie Ray.She worked at North Central Fireworks for many years and was also a homemaker. Joan lived life to the fullest and loved her family with her whole heart. Even after a stroke 13 years ago, she always had a smile on her face.Surviving are one daughter, Bonnie Garner of Muncie; one daughter-in-law, Jenny Ketchem of Anderson; eight grandchildren, Bonita Smithers (husband, Mike), Hunk Reed (wife, Denise), Tamera Clark (husband, Tim), Larry Reed (friend, Toya), Shane Reed (wife, Jamie), Jennifer Young (husband, Jeremy), Jessica Ebbert (husband, Josh) and Jonathan Ketchem; nineteen great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Brittney, Crystal, Lendol II, Kayla, TJ, Tara, Tabitha, Larry, Jacob, Seth, Memphis, Laken, Casey, Mason, Ivy Blue, Aiden, Alex and Elijah; and sixteen great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 38 years, Johnnie in 1998; one son, Johnnie Ray Ketchem in 2013; two sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Pastor James Proctor officiating.
