Joan Heymen RACINE Joan (nee: Lantz) Heymen, 77, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 at her home with her family by her side. Joan was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on June 24, 1935, the daughter of the late Edward and Viola (nee: Phelps) Lantz. On July 7, 1956, Joan was united in marriage to Tom Heymen. She had been employed with Racine Unified School District and for the Racine Labor Center as a cook, retiring in 1983 after many years of service. Joan is survived by her husband of 56 years, Tom and their daughters; Geri Hubbard and Carie (James) Hilt; grandchildren; Lindsay VanDenLangenberg, Ryan (Cassie) Hilt and Jordann (Joshua) Kohls, great grandchildren; Glendon and Grayson VanDenLangenberg, Nolan and Caydence Hilt. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Joan was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Lantz and Gene Lantz, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Al (Rachel) Heymen, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Roberta (Robert) McClellan. A memorial mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Avenue on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Joans nephew, Fr. Brian Holbus officiating. There will be a time for family and friends to meet at the church, in Haban Hall on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of mass at 11 a.m. Joan will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
