Joan HeffnerMay 22, 1935 - Nov. 10, 2016MISHAWAKA - Joan Marion Heffner, age 81, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away at 6:05 pm Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Hospice House, South Bend. She was born on May 22, 1935, in Mishawaka, IN, to the late Edward Louis Stutz and Veronica Schultz Stutz. On March 26, 1955, in Elkhart, Indiana, she was united in marriage to George Fredrick Heffner, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Heffner previously worked at Thermoplastics and enjoyed babysitting.Joan is survived by her children, Clay Heffner of Mishawaka, Margaret “Maggie” Hufkens of Mishawaka, and Connie of Mishawaka; three grandchildren, Jodie, Chasity and Tyra; seven great-grandchildren, Christian, Chaz, Matthew, Sequoia, Noah, Cheyenne, Nelson and Arielle; and one great-great-grandson, Roman. She was preceded in death by her son, Kirk Heffner; daughter in law, Tina Ann; and brother, Edward Al Stutz.Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Palmer Funeral Home - River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 pm until time of services and following the service until 8:00 pm.
