Joan HarpSan AngeloJoan Harp, 80, of San Angelo, went home to be with our Lord, Sunday, April 9, 2017. She was loved and cared for by many. She was born on Dec. 20, 1936, to Leonard "Red" and Mary Ratican.Joan married the love of her life, Tommy Harp Sr., on May 10, 1953. They lived life happily together for 57 years, had four children, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Joan and Tommy were the model of true and devoted love for one another, to their children and grandchildren. They lived out many adventures together and loved each other deeply.Joan "Gemo" is remembered by her loved ones as one who was always ready to share with her daughters and granddaughters in the "girly things in life", shopping for prom dresses, shoes, and pearls; and with her sons and grandsons, she was "one of their biggest fans" cheering them on in racing cars, football, and track.She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Harp Sr., her parents, Leonard "Red" & Mary Ratican, & her sisters, Cindy Heuertz and Jean Wrinkle.She is survived by her children; son, Tommy Lynn & wife Elaine; daughter, Carrie Woodard; daughter, Terri Latham & husband Mike; and son, Robby Harp; her grandchildren & their families; Chasidy, Brandon, Adilynn, Benson, & Ellyat Henry of Prosper, Texas; Traci, Keith, Kyson, & Baylor Kirkland of Prosper, Texas; Amie Woodard & Keyaira & Prince Pugh of Houston, Tanner, Molli & Carter Latham of San Angelo, & Cade Latham of Water Valley.Special thanks to Louise & Melissa for the loving care they gave to our mom.A visitation with the family present will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Johnson's Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017, in Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are with Johnson's Funeral Home.
