Joan Dillon MaysAge 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Riley Mays. She was born on January 15, 1939 in Indianapolis to Thomas and Virginia Dillon.A graduate of Shortridge High School, she attended college at Ohio Wesleyan University and later graduated from Butler University.She is survived by her children, Laura Croner (Hallie), Mike Croner (Sarah), Steve Croner (Jennifer), Jim Croner (Dana), Julie Welp (Eric), Jenny Graves (David), stepdaughter Becky Keelor (Tim), 14 grandchildren and her brother, Bill Dillon (Mickey).Joanie dedicated her life to serving others as a teacher, school volunteer, pre-school director, and a leader of many Bible studies in Student Ministries. She finished her teaching career at Carmel Clay Schools as a substitute teacher where she enjoyed the opportunity to see some of her grandchildren in class.Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and a "Nana". She will be remembered for her love of Jesus, her kind spirit and beautiful smile.Visitation is from 10am until 1pm on November 3, 2017 at Flanner Buchanan - Carmel with the funeral service following visitation.
