New AlbanyBowman, Joan (Crews),Joan (Crews) Bowman, 86, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and loved to cook. Joan was a lifelong member of Central Christian Church and was a retired Quality Control Technician from Philip Morris. Joan was born on March 24, 1931 in Taswell, IN to the late Ray & Thelma (Harmon) Crews. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Dean" Bowman; sisters, Margaret Shannon and Dixie Trial; granddaughters, Jennifer Shea and Krista Hagedorn.She will be missed by her children, Debbie Horan (Gary), Denise White (Mark), Kevin Bowman (Mary Ann), Brent Bowman and Lori Weldon (John); brother, Jerry Crews (Norma); 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). Her Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
