A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at the Faith Lutheran Church, in Powell, Wyoming with Pastor Clyde Seifert officiating.
Jimmy Mac Gwinn, Jr. age 57, of Gillette, Wyoming died on April, Wednesday 10th at his home in Gillette.
Jimmy was born on October 1, 1961, in San Bernardino, California the son of Jimmy and Patricia Gwinn. He graduated from high school in Pasco, Washington. In 1980 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and for 20 years he faithfully served the country that he loved. He retired from the military with full honors, having served in the Iran Crisis, the Persian Gulf War and many other sea service deployments. After retirement, he served in the honor guard for the VFW. Jimmy moved his family to Powell, Wyoming in 1998 where he began working in the construction field. He enjoyed being in the mountains camping, fishing, and hunting. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Gillette where he enjoyed singing and helping with service projects. Jimmy will be truly missed by his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a man who would stop what he was doing to help even a stranger with whatever needed to be done.
He is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Patricia Gwinn of Desert Hot Springs, California; his son, Justin Matthew Gwinn and daughter, Sierra Esther Gwinn both of Powell, Wyoming; brother, Larry (Julie) Gwinn of Olympia, Washington; brother, Bill (Linda) Gwinn of Kennewick, Washington; brother, John Gwinn of San Diego, California; brother, Rick Gwinn of Victorville, California; the mother of his children, Laura Gwinn of Powell, Wyoming; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
