Kaster, JeromeJerome F. "Big Jerry" Kaster, 81, Ledgeview, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017. Son of the late Phillip and Loretta (Josten) Kaster was born on January 26, 1936. He married Carol Massey on October 5, 1960 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Pine Grove. Carol preceded him in death on November 25, 2015. The two of them farmed most of their life on the family farm. He was very active in serving his community. He was the Town of Ledgeview constable for many years, while also working with the Ledgeview Fire Department. Jerome loved polka music and enjoyed visiting with many people. Survivors include his children: Cheryl Kaster-Johnson, Green Bay; Dan (Holly) Kaster, Ledgeview; Julie (Michael) Van Deurzen, De Pere; nine grandchildren: Brad, Nick, Samantha, Anna, Emily, Karla, April, Rachel, Austin; two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Aggie Albers, Bellevue; Carol Schultz, Greenleaf; brother-in-law, Robert Massey, Milwaukee.In addition to his wife, Jerome is preceded in death by a daughter, Mary; granddaughter, Laura Van Deurzen; brother, Wayne Kaster; son-in-law, Jeff Johnson; brothers-in-law: Jim Schultz, Robert Albers and Jim Massey.Family and friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Road, Ledgeview, on Thursday, February 16 from 3:00 until 8:00pm, with a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:30 until 10:45am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with the Rev. Richard Getchel, officiating.
