"Jerry" Cates, 51, of Bassett, Wis., died Wednesday morning Jan. 14, 2015, at his brother's home in Powers Lake, Wis.Jerome Raymond Cates was born on Feb. 20, 1963, in Burlington, Wis., the son of James and Joyce Probst Cates. Jerry has been a lifelong resident of Bassett.He worked as a laborer in the construction trades. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Twin Lakes. He was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan and a Milwaukee Bucks Fan. He enjoyed nature photography, loved to travel and was an artist. His greatest love was his family and was a loving uncle.Jerry is survived by his parents James and Joyce Cates of Bassett, Wis.; his significant other Cheryl Lennon of Bristol, Wis.; three brothers, John of Bassett, Wis., Jeff (Paula) of Powers Lake, Wis., Joe (Danette) of Salem, Wis.; and one sister Jennifer (Ken) Nardini of Bassett, Wis.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (MEET AT CHURCH) Jan. 17, 2015, at St. John's Catholic Church in Twin Lakes. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. The Cates Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home.
