Jennifer Kay Shidler, 41, McKinney, Texas (formerly of Reynolds), passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at her home. She was born on Feb. 15, 1975, in Monticello to John Frederick and Ruth (Sigman) Shidler.Jennifer was raised in Reynolds and was a 1993 graduate of North White High School of Monon. She was also a 1997 graduate of Ball State University of Muncie receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management. Jennifer has lived in Texas since graduating from Ball State University in 1997.After graduating from college, Jennifer went to work for the City of Carrollton, Texas, from 1997 - 1999, then went to work for Selkirk L.L.C. from 1999 - 2007. After that she held a couple different positions at Ericsson from 2007 - 2010. From 2011 - 2013 she worked for Amphenol Fiber Systems International and over the last three years, she worked at GENBAND of McKinney, Texas. Jennifer loved her beloved Persian cats, Rocky and Cosmo, whom she rescued from the Persian Cat Rescue. She loved and enjoyed planning and going on beach vacations, and was a "sun worshiper", be it at the pool or at the beach.Jennifer was an avid NFL Dallas Cowboys Football fan. She loved and enjoyed her Texas family of friends. Jennifer especially loved her nieces and nephews.Jennifer had one of a kind personality, and she was always the life of the party. She was a social butterfly, very outgoing, loved life to the fullest, and had a memorable laugh.Jennifer was a very independent, caring, and career driven person. She had a HUGE heart of gold.Jennifer will be dearly missed by ALL. Surviving are her mother and step-father, Ruth and Kenny Magers, Niles, Mich.; father and step-mother, John R. and Susan Shidler, Reynolds; brothers, Brad Shidler, Reynolds, and Shane (Melissa) Shidler, Edwardsburg, Mich.; nieces and nephews, (Brad's children) Jordyn, Nolan, and Tatum Shidler, (Shane and Melissa's children) Naylee and Ryla Shidler; step–sister, Sabrena Ham, Indianapolis; step-brothers, Allen Magers Jr., Greenwood, and Scotty Hughes, Reynolds; uncles, Dan (Mary Ann) Sigman, Monticello, and Jeff Sigman; cousins, Seth, Coran, Skylar, and Nathan Sigman; and her beloved Persian cats, Rocky and Cosmo.Jennifer was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Don and Marjorie "Joann" (VanMeter) Sigman; and paternal grandparents, Wayne "Bug" and Adrienne Sue (Ade) Shidler. Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sunday at the Miller–Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Nikki Brown–Rice of the Reynolds United Methodist Church of Reynolds officiating.Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F.
